Student Councillors:
Each term, four or five students are elected to the positions of Student Councillors. Student Councillors organize a fund-raising activity for a charity each term. We have raised money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Active Foundation and Princess Margaret Hospital.
The Student Councillors also organize lunchtime activities such as quizzes, treasure hunts, skipping and hula hoop competitions and the activities which were rewards for whole school incentives as part of the Managing Student Behaviour policy.
Buddy Classes- Year 6 students take on the role of Pre Primary buddies while year 7 students follow their buddies into Year 1. Students interact in the playground, during literacy, science, tabloids and assembly presentations. Senior students are very supportive of their little buddies.
Year 7 students have the unique opportunity to attend events such as National Young Leaders Days.
House Captains:
Each year six students are elected to the position of House Captains. We have two House Captains for each House.
House Captains are expected to be good role models, be responsible and show initiative. They take on responsibilities with the leadership role. The House Captains organize sports equipment for whole school sport, interschool carnivals and for lunchtime and recess use. They also organize lunchtime activities such as football, soccer, netball, basketball, tabloid sports and competitions.
Peer Mediators Twelve senior students are trained as Peer Mediators to help problem-solve issues with younger students in the playground at lunchtime. |
