City Beach Primary School has state-of-the-art information technology facilities and a very active teaching program.
Mrs Sandra Hird, a teacher, is the IT coordinator for our school. External providers have been used for specialist computer animation courses for all students.
There is a separate Information and Communciation Technology room with 30 computers. Each class has specifically allocated time in their timetable to undertake computer studies. Each classroom, including kindergarten, also has two computers. The school library has 3 computers to act as search terminals for the library network. All computers are networked and have internet access.
The Information Communication and Technology room is available under supervision to the children during lunchtimes on rain affected days.
City Beach Primary School has interactive whiteboards in each classroom from Pre-Primary to Year 7. Funding for these whiteboards has come from various sources. In the 2007 Annual City to Surf Fun Run Event City Beach Primary won the Schools section for the highest number of participants, the prize an interactive whiteboard. Other Interactive whiteboards have been purchased by the P&C and through the Federal Government's Investing in our School Program.
Teachers have undertaken training to utilise these whiteboards to their full potential. They act as an invaluable and enjoyable resource and teaching tool within the classroom for our children.
A TV attachment for the interactive whiteboard is being trialled in one classroom with an objective to expand to all classrooms in the future. |
