City Beach Primary School prides itself on its community spirit. A survey of the school community conducted acknowledged a tremendous friendship, respect and level of support amongst the parent body, staff and students.
A Strategic Committee, the Community Relations group has as its objective to maintain a high level of community involvement and to provide opportunities for relationships within our school community to be strengthened. Throughout the year the Committee and Parents’and Citizens’ Association co-ordinate various functions to help develop and foster this community feel.
These functions include;
Welcome Disco
Held in Term 1 for all families with a special focus on welcoming new families to the school. It is always a wonderful evening, that both the children and parents thoroughly enjoy.

Melbourne Cup Luncheon

Quiz Night

Grade 7 Graduation Dinners
The school also participates in community events such as the City to Surf Fun Run. In 2007 the school won both the Open and Primary School category for the most participants on a pro rata basis. Over 85% of our school community participated in the event, a significant achievement.
Each class has a class representative appointed at the beginning of each year and one of their responsibilities is assisting new families and their introduction to the school. Another important role of the class representative is organising coffee mornings and social nights for the specific year group. Current Class representatives are noted on the P&C page.
Many lifelong friendships can be developed through your child’s attendance at City Beach Primary School. There are many opportunities for parent involvement at the school and strong bonds are formed. |
